Royal jelly (also called queen bee jelly) is the secretion produced by honeybees to feed their queen. This mixture is obtained from the secretions of worker bees and is used to feed bee larvae during the first three larval stages. Particularly noteworthy is the free fatty acid 10-HDA (10-Hydroxy-2-decenoic acid), which is very rare in nature.
