Protecting Food Supplement Innovation through Science-based Collective Action
Information
This presentation will illustrate how collective action at EU level can help safeguard innovation while maintaining high standards of consumer protection. Drawing on recent examples, including work on ingredients such as Bacillus coagulans and ashwagandha, engagement in Article 8 assessments, and the submission of scientific data to the European Commission and the European Food Safety Authority, Food Supplements Europe (FSE) will demonstrate how industry collaboration can support science-based regulatory outcomes. The session will also highlight FSE’s efforts to strengthen responsible communication and protect consumer trust through the development of guidance on influencer marketing for food supplements.
By showcasing these initiatives, the presentation will explore how coordinated, evidence-based engagement can help ensure that regulatory developments enable innovation, maintain consumer trust and support the long-term sustainability of the sector.
