Prof. George Birkmayer NADH GmbH is a Vienna-based specialist company with a singular focus: NADH. Founded in 2013 to carry forward the life's work of its namesake, Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. chem. George Birkmayer (*1941 – †2022), we develop and manufacture premium NADH-based dietary supplements and cosmetics that are distributed worldwide.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE COMPANY
NADH (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Hydride), also known as Coenzyme-1, is the body's primary biological fuel. It is the critical coenzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport chain — the process by which every human cell converts nutrients into ATP, the universal energy currency of life. The more NADH available to a cell, the more energy it can produce. With that energy, cells function more efficiently, repair themselves more effectively, and age more slowly.
Despite its central role in human physiology, NADH is highly unstable outside the body. For decades, it could not be delivered to the body in a bioavailable form — until Prof. George Birkmayer solved that problem.
In 1993, after years of pioneering research into NADH's role in neurological disease and cellular energy metabolism, Prof. Birkmayer became the first scientist in the world to successfully stabilize NADH in tablet form, making it orally absorbable and therapeutically effective. His breakthrough was recognized through patents granted in 1994. While those patents have since expired, no competitor has replicated the combination of an optimized stabilization method, the clinical depth, or the strict production standards that define our products to this day.
The therapeutic effects of NADH on the human organism — including its role in ATP production, DNA repair, neurotransmitter synthesis (dopamine, noradrenaline, serotonin), immune function, and cellular antioxidant protection — have been confirmed in nearly 50 published scientific studies and publications, many of which Prof. Birkmayer led personally.
