ExceptionHYAL® Star is a cutting-edge biotechnological ingredient developed by ROELMI HPC with Full Spectrum technology, characterized by a wide range of hyaluronan molecular weights. Unlike standard hyaluronic acids with a narrow molecular weight distribution, ExceptionHYAL® Star more closely mimics the natural composition of hyaluronans in the skin tissue. This unique fingerprint of hyaluronans provides a complete and lasting signal to skin cells, improving their hydration, elasticity and tone and ultimately promoting a youthful, ageless appearance. A series of in vivo studies and two clinical trials have been conducted to verify the efficacy of the ingredient on signs of skin aging, tested both alone and in combination with a cosmetic product. Recently, a multicenter, randomized, parallel-group clinical study lasting 56 days was carried out on a multiethnic, multigender population of 88 participants aged 35–65 years, all presenting mild-to-moderate signs of skin aging. The aim was to evaluate the effects of an IN&OUT treatment compared to placebo, or to single cosmetic or nutraceutical treatments (200 mg). This clinical trial confirmed the findings of the earlier study conducted on an adult female Caucasian population treated with the IN&OUT protocol and demonstrated that all groups receiving at least one active treatment showed progressive significant improvements in skin parameters. ExceptionHYAL® Star, whether administered alone or as part of the IN&OUT treatment, led to sustained improvements in facial skin parameters compared to the previous 4-week study. These results suggest that oral supplementation provides a significant, long-lasting effect, unlike topical treatments, which offer faster but shorter-lasting results. Therefore, combining the rapid action of a cosmetic treatment with the prolonged benefits of ExceptionHYAL® Star enables a comprehensive approach to achieve and maintain youthful-looking skin.
